Charles Darwin - Downe House

Charles Darwin had a house in kent called Downe House. We went there today.

Charles Darwin was a explorer, naturist and one of the most famous scientists of our time. He was born in 1809.

He sailed around he world for 5 years. Everywhere he went he collected a bug or a thing. He was the one who found out about the theory of evolution and the survival of the fittest. He also came up with Natural Selection.

Natural selection is when the animals can blend into its environment. Like if there was a white bird it would survive in the snow and not the forest. Where is fits in is where it doesn't get eaten and stays alive.

He took 20 years to publish his book because he had to fight with the church's about God and their view on how animals were created. He believes that everything  evolves to suit their environment, including humans. The church didn't like that.

He finally went on to publish his book but lots of people even today don't believe it. He lived a very long life.
