Book review-basil and scraggs

Today's book was basil and scraggs underground adventure at geevor mine.
Geevor mine has been mined for 4000 years.
It's a good historic book because it teaches you about what basil and scraggs like to do and if they always feel bored or feeling like they can do some adventures.
I think it's the adventures one.

Kynance cove

I went down to kynance cove. I was really scared when I had to go across some stones when the tide was coming in. It was ok because we counted the waves. We did a big walk.

Bollowall Barrows

This is the famous Bollowalls Barrows. They are places you bury kings way back in the Bronze Age. That was 4000 years ago.

There basiclly graves with walls around and over them.

We got to walk over the top of them.

The mines

The mines over here are magnificant. I'm a control ladie today at the tin mines. I control the shaft cages.the smallest one carries 4 big blokes and the biggest carry's 9.
The mines are cold and wet and very dark inside.
I went down to a mine today it was really wet down there.

this is a picture of me operating the cages.

Minack theatre

There was a lady who built this theatre her whole life and her name was Rowena Cade.
She worked from top to bottom every day at the theatre. It must have been hard in those days. She built it by hand and no-one to help her. She did it out of stone and concrete.
This theatre is really old it was built in the 1930's.

Its a very beautiful spot.

Merry Maidens Stone Circle

This stone circle is very pagan and ancient to me.
The stones are very small but every one is very exact and pretty. They are much smaller than Stonehenge.
I didn't bring my phone with me to take photos of it.

St. Ives

St Ives is where the smugglers and pirates came from. There is lots of shipwrecks, mines and ships. There are pixies, scrogins and knokeys everywhere in St.Ives. They are tiny fairy beings who look after and protect the land. They are sometimes naughty.

My favourite thing in St.ives was the pasties.  Pasties are delicious pastries with  chunks of meat, veggies and mashed potato.  In the olden days men would go down to the mines and for lunch they would get a pastie one side had a hot meal in it other a desert in it and that was what was for lunch. What a good idea.

St Ives is a really nice seaside place. Even when it was wet and cold like it was today.

Pullies at the Science Musuem

For homeschooling we have to report on things we see. I saw a very interesting science experiment.  It was testing pullies.

I learnt alot of science stuff. Did you know that if you have two heavy things of the same weight put one of them on one pully and the other on two pullies. Try lifting the 1 pully one, next try pulling the 2 pully one.it's hard to pull the 1 pully one because if you have two pullies the 2nd pullie is helping you lift the heavy thing.  Isn't that cool?

This picture is me pulling on both pullies.. The one with a few cogs is so much easier.

The science museum-bubble show

I saw a bubble show at the science museum. It was teaching us about chemistry and gasses. We did gasses last year with Mum in homeschooling. We got to look at what hydrogen does and what liquid nitrogen does.

We got to hold liquid nitrogen in a bubble shape. It was cold brrrrr.

It was really cold in London so it was nice to get into a warm building. We explored the whole third floor of the science museum. It took a long time to explore as it was so big.

Mum says that when we come to London we can go to a new part of a museum every time.

Feeding squirelles

Today I fed squirrels In Hyde Park. They came up and sat on my lap. It was soooo cool.  The squirrels took the nuts out of our fingers. They were very gentle and cute.

It was soo cool. it was very cold in Hyde Park. There was hardly anyone there. Mum said that in Summer time, the place is packed. We came here last July with Dad and had a picnic, so I remember it was busy.

YHA in London

We normally stay in YHAs when we go places. They are really good and normally very unusual places like castles and big country homes. This one looked like a haunted house. It was close to St Pauls Cathedral and used to be the boys school attached to it.

I like the way the beds are formed. You don't have to do a boring journey into bed anymore because it's like stairs but giant sized and it saves on space.. pretty cool hey?

The Universal Studios in Singapore

At the Universal Studios I saw Shrek and Fiona in Far Far Away Land.

I saw Alex,Gloria,Marty and Melman in Madagascar world. We went on a boat trip ride which was meant for little kids but it was fun anyway.

I also saw Jurassic Park and went on some dinosaur rides. We went to the Water World Show. It was fantastic and very exciting.

We walked through the  sci-fi city and went on the Transformers ride four times in a row.

Every ride in the theme park was great.  I went on all of them except  the scary ones.
