Daddys funeral. It mades mum and me cry alot seeing it and listening to the music.

Heritage day

This is a steam engine. I saw this at Kent saddlery heritage day. I got to do leatherwork and go on a jumping castle. Nealy everything was FREE.it was AWSOME. :)

Hand raising a baby bird

Hand raising a little bird is alot of work.

You would have a baby bird because you would have found it, or bought it from the vets.

You must look after it you must feed it,let it sleep,let it drink and clean it just like its mother would have.

The things you feed a baby bird is meal worms and fruit.

The way you feed a baby bird is you put your finger above it's head and it opens it's mouth and you drop it in.

Starzi and Rhodi found a little baby bird a few days ago its is a fig bird. The fig bird lives in India normally and there are lots of them around here.

When it's big you can release it so it can go and live back in the bush.

Tomorrow when the war began - film review

I saw the movie at my grandmas on the weekend.

It was about a group of teenagers that went camping and when they got back a war began. The whole of Australia got invaded and everyone was put into prison camps. It happened really quickly and no-one could do anything about it.

The main characters are Ellie, Homer,Fiona, Lee and Corrie. The setting was Australia and the blue mountains. It was made in 2010 and its a book as well.

The message was to be brave and stand up to other people. The movie showed me that anyone can be brave, even when you think you aren't.

I like Ellie because she has good leadership and she was brave even when she was scared.

I think it's suitable for people who don't get scared by guns and scary things. There are some scary things that happen so you should be 9 and up.

Animal Research Project - Shark

I am doing a research project on an anmal, looking at the internet and books to get information

My animal is the scary shark.

I chose it because it's nice to learn about.

It's animal family is the fish.

Three facts about a shark are they can grow back their teeth,they are an apex predator - which means that they are the top of the food chain. They are also one of the species which has the largest animal in the world.

It eats big fish and doesn't like humans to eat. Its just a mistake if they do.

The environment is salt water. It lives in the sea.

It's threats are the killer whale. It is not endangered.

I like it because they look cool and they are scary.

Science museum

Today I had the best day ever at the science mueseam. The best part was when I went into space. Here is a picture of a space portal.

They have a new exhibit about future science.

It was awesome in the space portal because they had cameras and made us look like we were teleported away.

I wonder what it would be like if we really got sent into space and back.

Film Review Thor

We went to see Thor in the cinemas.

It was the best movie I have seen in a long time.

I love the costumes that they wore.I especially loved the queens dress. It was beautiful.

First fleet-History

The aboriginal people were the first to discover Australia by a land bridge.

They were here for a very long time before captain cook invaded.

England's jails were too full so they searched for more places to put jails and found Australia.

The aboriginal people must of thought  "is this a big canoe" looking at the boat.

We went to Sydney earlier on and went to the Rocks and to the jail. I think being a convict must have been awful because  they had to eat slop and wore big cuffs.

Warwick sale yards

My grandma and grandpa have lots of sheep. We went to Warwick sale yards and sold some sheep to some local butchers. We helped get the sheep on the weigher.

They weighed 55 kg each.

We had to use our math skills to figure it out.

Did you know?

That the butchers will only get about 20kg  of meat from 1 sheep.

Cooking - my maths lesson today

I learnt some fractions today in cooking class. We made a special chocolate cake just for me. Its gluten free as I have found out that I am gluten intollerant.
 The fractions I learnt were 2\3, 1/2 and 1/4.
We had to measure things and see what was the same.

I loved it it was AWESOME. The cake was yummy too.

History.. The First People in Australua

The aboriginal people were the first peoples to discover Australia. They arrived by a land bridge.

There are lots of tribes of Aboriginal People. They all speak different languages. They traded amongst each other.

They lived in Australia for thousands of years before Captain Cook arrived.

Mistletoe -geography- the environment

I am learning about different environments and settings for geography.

Mistletoe has a sticky seed.

It grows on all trees around the world.

We found it at my grandmas place in her gumtree.it gets there when the bird eats it and it poos on the tree and the seed grows into mistletoe and once again it happens. It sucks all the water out of the tree.

Did you know that druids used it for potions?

At Christmas time, people still put up mistletoe for kissing...

Feeding the Cows

Grandma has cows. They are about to have calfs. Calfs are so cute!

The cows need extra feed when they are pregnant.

Book Review Eye of The Future

The main characters are Karon,her gran,her mum,her dad and her brother.

As you know,on the front of the book it says the eye of the future. 

So basically the eye of the future might be about the future of the main main character,

I am looking forward to reading the rest

Crystal castle

This rose quartz is in the meditation circle.

I felt relaxed when I sat in the grass with all crystals around me.

 I saw a labyrinth.

A labyrinth is a  meditation maze.

I love being in the middle of lots of crystals around me.

I wish I had one of those big crystals. They were huge!!

Environment study -the seaside

Mangroves

In the mangroves all sorts of things go on. Either the crab eats the mangroves

and their poo turns it into mud. 

guess what? you can pick off a leaf and lick the back of it and it tastes like salt.

It's because all the salt in the mud comes through the mangrove and into the leaves. 

Mangroves have snorkels. This is their roots and they use them to breath.

I miss you daddy

I did a video for dad and said i miss him. I hope he gets out of hospital soon and can come and live with us again.

Science this week. The Naked Egg experiment.

Over the last week, in science we learnt about gases. There are different types of gases.

We are doing an experiment called the Naked Egg.

It will show us a chemical reaction between gases.

You need 2 eggs, 2 containers, some vinegar and a torch.

What you need to do. Get the two fresh eggs in the container. They have to stay apart  from each other.

Pour the vinegar over the eggs do it covers them.

Put them in the fridge for one day

The eggshells get eaten away and only the egg bit stays.

I took photos every day to show you.

The first is the beginning and then I have photos of the end and me breaking the membrane.

Why I love Darcy

Darcy and I love each other. Whenever I sit down he will come and sit on my lap.

He purrs really loud. He makes me feel safe. Darcy loves to sleep on my lap.

No internet!

We have no internet in Gympie so its hard to do blogs.

Mum bought a thing for internet but its expensive, so we cant use it much.

I miss Daddy

I wish Daddy could be with us. He is still in hospital. When he gets out he doesn't want to live with us. We won't see he very much ever.

I love Darcy the cat

I am looking after a cat called Darcy. He is so cute and furry.

He comes and sits in my lap sometimes.

We went to see the Dali paintings and sculptures. We had a photo taken as if we were Dali. It was hard to put my face in the right spot so that's why it doesn't look right.

The things I liked best was the melting clock.

Madame Tussauds

We went to Madame Tussauds.

Daddy has decided to leave us.

A couple of days ago Daddy said he was leaving us and never going to live with us again.

I cried and cried.

I have some questions.

1.why does dad have to leave us?

2.why doesn't he love us anymore?

3.I've always loved him.

I dont know why he never wants to see us again. 

Mum Says we will do some travelling and visit friends and family when we get back to Australia.

Shakespeare Book shop and Sylvia Petter

We are in Vienna. You know Mum is a publisher. She is also a writer. Sylvia is a writer who has a book mum just published called Mercury Blobs.  Sylvia read some stories out at a party last night. 

Morgan and I filmed it and its going to be put on you tube!

My favourite story was the trashion passion one. It was about a lady who makes clothes and things out of stuff people throw sway, like old socks and ties .
