Bushrangers - John "black" Caesar. The first Bushranger

John Black Caesar was born on 1763. The reason we know who he is is because he was the first Australian bushrangers. He was also the first African Convict

John 'Black' Caesar was from Africa. he was a servant in Kent before he got caught. His actual name was John caesar but he got a nick name and his nickname was black.

The reason he ran away was because he was a convict and convicts had to work hard and didn't get much food.

None of his crimes were violent he just stole stuff.

He was finally captured by the police and shot.

Goldrush in Australia - History lesson

1851 is when the magnificent goldrush began in Australia in Victoria.

The richest goldfields where near Ballarat. People all around the world came to dig for gold, especially the Chinese.

One way miners used to separate gold from dirt and gravel was called panning.

Today we tried doing it ourselves. We picked up the sand put it in the pan then washed it out and found specks of crystals. There wasn't any gold there.

I think I'm very glad that I'm not doing a job all day everyday. I don't think I'd like it.

Star - my first poem

I have been learning about poems and wrote my own here.  Mum says its really good.

Star

Light bright
in the air
bright my night
send me a wish
looking down
at the world
from high above
like a bird
lofty softly
in the sky

I'm not much good with rhyming but mum said poems don't need to rhyme.
