Germany Geography Report Draft 1

Germany is best known for meats.

Germany is located in Central Europe.

The country is 357168 km squared and there is 80.62 million people living there.
They speak standard German: 90 million and all varieties of German: 120 million.
The flag colours were first seen in 1866. The flag colours are actually black, red and gold.
The money they use is euros.
The animal is a eagle surrounded by black, red and gold.
The common food they eat is beer with pretzels.
There's a really cool festival called faschnuch and its used to scare away the winter and they use lollys and floats.
Usually the houses are units with a little backyard and a little unit with a lot of stuff.

FEEDBACK

Great start Lilly. You will need to answer these questions and add them into your report.
What other languages are spoken in Germany?
What is the capital city?
What is the government there?  How does that work?
What are the symbols or emblems in the flag or for the country?
Picture of Euros
What foods do a normal family eat? List some foods that are typical. Look back on the Australian project where we listed a dozen types of foods and explained what they were.
What other festivals do they celebrate?  What is the MOST FAMOUS? ( hint its in September but its called by the name of a different month)
What historical dates or important things happened in Germany?
What famous people came or come from Germany?  Remember you need to list at least three and choose one to talk about as ell as put a photo up.
What are the main touristy things someone would come and see if they came to Germany? ( Big hint - we went to one of these in July)

Other things to consider is your sentence structure. Please begin to write complex sentences using conjunctions and subordinate clauses to make them more interesting.

Map of the world- Geography

Today we looked  at the globe and the continents of the world.

On my maps I have drawn a blue line where we have been. We have been up and down Queensland and all the way down to Melbourne and Geelong. We have been to New Zealand, Fiji and Vanuatu a few times.  We have been to Europe twice and spent a lot of time there.

Geography report - Poland third draft

Poland is best known for smoked meats and as the country which has been invaded alot. Its been invaded 43 times since the 1600s.

The country located in Eastern Europe. The capital city is Warsaw.

Poland is 312679 km square. That's pretty big but not as big as Australia. You could fit Poland into Australia 23 times.
There is 38 million people in Poland. Wow. Australia has 23 million!
The main language is Polish, but they also speak other languages such as Kashubian (108,000) German (98,000) Belarusian (26,000) Rusyn (6,000) Lithuanian (5,000) Slovak (1,000) Czech (1,000).

The flag has the national colours on it which are white and red white an eagle on it. The national animal is a bielik eagle.

The currency that they use is złotys. They don't use the Euro, eventhough they are in the E.U.

Poland has a democracy. Democracy means everyone gets a chance to say when they vote which party they want to rule the country.

There are alot of festivals in Poland, but the one I like is The Drowning of Marzanna. Its on Death Sunday before Easter. Marzanna is the Goddess of winter seasons. On Death Sunday, people make dolls out of cardboard, straw or paper and throw them into the river, so that winter can be forgotten and Spring can come.
People live in  houses that don't really look like those in Brisbane. Polish houses have three stories and Australian houses have two stories. This is because it is so cold in Poland and it snows.

Catherine the Great was the Queen of Poland and her cousins were Gustav lll and Charles the Xlll, who became kings of Sweden. Catherine the Great was famous because she very beautiful and very powerful.

If you were going to be a tourist to visit this country you would have to see is Bieszczady Mountans,Tatra Mountains, Białowieża Forest and Wawel Castle because they are very beautiful sights , the forest is huge and the castle is breathtaking.

Feedback
Lilly, big improvement on your draft. I've noted in your draft a few things which you need to add in.

Remember names of people and places are proper nouns and they need capital  letters.

Look at the Australian one we did together to see the sorts of things we included.

Next ( and LAST hopefully!) draft  ( you forgot to include these things)

Research what foods are typical there and what some of the yummiest things to eat are.  Put in photos as well.

What festivals or annual events happen?

This is my first draft for my report on Poland. I have a list of questions to answer and when I have done this, I will need to make the whole report flow.

Lilly, this is a great first draft. I've noted in your draft a few things which you need to add in, which include a map and pictures.

Remember names of people and places are proper nouns and they need capital  letters.

Look at the Australian one we did together to see the sorts of things we included.

Next draft  ( you forgot to include these things)
You need to explain what a democracy is.
Research what foods are typical there and what some of the yummiest things to eat are.  Put in photos as well.
What are the main festivals?
What are the main historical or important dates?
What famous people came from the country?
Why would you ( or anyone) go and visit Poland?

Science museum

Today I had the best day ever at the science mueseam. The best part was when I went into space. Here is a picture of a space portal.

They have a new exhibit about future science.

It was awesome in the space portal because they had cameras and made us look like we were teleported away.

I wonder what it would be like if we really got sent into space and back.
